The Goshen Center Ruritans present “The Bunker Hill Shootout” 2010 pulling series. Big Changes and new partners promise to keep you coming back for more!

Welcome USA East and Full Pull Productions!

The Goshen Center Ruritans are proud to announce that we have teamed up forces with Full Pull Productions and USA East. Two exciting weekends of hardcore pulling combined with raw horsepower and black smoke will have you on the edge of your seats.

USA East and Full Pull Productions are the largest private producer and promoter of high quality tractor and truck pulling events in the United States. Incorporated in 1987 Rick Feicht and his team have been entertaining spectators across the country.

On Friday night in July we’ll offer the first night of points competition with the “Run What Ya Brung” class. Returning points champion Todd Berkey and his 1950’s Chevy truck will attempt to retain his title again by trying to hold off some stiff competition like local favorite Wayne Greier and his truck called the “Resurrected Ram”!

On Friday night in August we’ll be hosting two Full Pull classes! The first will be the “Limited Pro Stock/ Super Farm” tractors. Returning 2009 points champion Nathan Graham strapped in his 540 cubic inch Ford tractor named the “Blue Reaper” will try to go back to back and repeat as the 2010 points champion. That won’t be an easy task with competition like Mark Bell aboard his John Deere 7800 called “Fire Fox” or Mike Lozier on his International called the “Indian Outlaw”. Both of these guys are past point champions looking to get back to the top of their class.

The second Full Pull class that evening will be the “Street Licensed Diesel 4×4 Trucks” or the “2.6 Diesel Trucks”. Dale Bennett and his Chevrolet pick up called “Social Security ” is the returning 2009 points champion. This class will take on a new complexion in 2010 as the rules of NADM (National Association of Diesel Motor Sports) will be utilized. For the first time these street licensed diesel trucks will be permitted to hang weights on the front of the truck. All trucks that are “running for the points” must be members of the USA-EAST sanctioning body in order to collect 2010 series’ points. See www.USA-EAST.com for membership information.

NADM” Back by popular demand

Back by popular demand the National Association of Motorsports will make its second appearance at the “Bunker Hill Shootout”!

On Saturday night July 10th The Goshen Center Ruritans have invited back the NADM truck pulling series. In 2009 we had a rainy morning that gave way to sunny skies later in the afternoon. That didn’t stop pullers from as far away as Wisconsin and Illinois making the trek to Beloit Ohio to participate in the “Bunker Hill Shootout”. This year we expect a huge turnout as the word is spreading about our event. Points can be earned in these two classes for NADM participants only.

First we’ll offer the 2.6 Diesel Truck class. Last year 25 trucks competed in this class. The class was won by Brandon Swanson with a distance of 312.19 feet. The second place winner was Rocky Roark with a distance of 305.1 feet and the third place winner was Karl Mirgiter with a distance of 304.0 feet. Ten trucks were able to surpass the 275 foot line. The competition will be tight in this class this year as we’ve received news of a lot of shop time over the winter.

The second class of the evening will be the Super Street Trucks. Last year the class had ten pullers. The weather was a factor early in the day with competitors traveling from outside the region. The winner was Wayne Greier and the “Resurrected Ram” with a strong pull of 307.8 feet. Close behind in second place was Brad Ingram of Farina Illinois with a distance o 304.85 feet and rounding out the top three was Calvin Miller of Levith, Pa. with a distance of 268.7 feet. We look forward to seeing more trucks this year.

New sleds to increase the competition

New for the 2010 Season, the Bunker Hill Shootout will have a new look each month. We are proud to announce that we have signed contracts with “The Ox” sled pulling team in June and August and the “Mighty Mac” sled pulling team in July. These sleds are professional up to date sleds that pull on the NTPA circuit as well as other national circuits. You’ll enjoy these new sleds as they make their debut at Bunker Hill. Just another way we’re striving to make the “Bunker Hill Shootout” an event to remember.
